With a record incomparable to anyone else who has graced the VSDCA in 100 years Val was a natural and worthy selection. We salute Val, a remarkable cricketer, wonderful man and friend of many for being a worthy recipient of this great honour. record partnership The Round 11 clash against long time rivals Malvern was memorable for more than just the two victories with Captain Brian Grace and young gun Kobi Wallis breaking a long standing VSDCA partnership record for the 9th wicket in Third XI matches. Coming together with the score at a precarious 8/90 with the number 11 batsman ill and unable to bat, the two required an unlikely 35 runs to post vicory.
